Man shot on crowded dance floor
I'm taking dance classes and it occurred to me today to wonder if a dancing environment is "safe enough" to disarm. Look at what I found:

The Orlando area continued today to inch toward a record-breaking year for homicides when a man was shot on a crowded dance floor in a South Orange Blossom Trail club.
Ewan Irving, 28, was shot several times in front of about 100 people at Rendez-Vous Bar Restaurant, 1025 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando police said. Emergency workers responded about 4:35 a.m. and pronounced Irving dead.
The club had been rented for a private party, and Irving was a guest, police said. Several armed private security guards also had been hired to police the event.
"There were plenty of witnesses, but nobody stuck around," police Lt. Darryl Braunskill said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the police or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered, and callers don't have to identify themselves.

I always ask a slightly different question: Do I know for a fact that today won't be the day crime will present itself? The day I have advance knowledge is the day I'll knowingly go unarmed.

Remember, a given venue isn't the only spot at risk. It's the trip to and from the venue as well.

I would carry, but - a hip holster would probably be easily felt by your dance partner. Choose something like a snubby in a pocket holster for this activity.

South OBT, private party nightclub, and at 4:30 AM, and no one is talking? Sounds to me like its one of those places that you wouldn't want to go to anyway, unless you were involved in some shady associations to begin with.
I am getting a little tired of our murder rate but a lot of happens on "that" side of town. The gangbangers and drug dealers are really doing war out there, but that doesn't mean it doesn't spill out all over this town.
