Another good reason to allow carry on campus.
BTW: This is an urban campus with urban students. I have travelled these streets a lot at night working EMS, even did a security shift there a long time ago. You would NOT catch me near there if not for work.

Norfolk State University students were victims of multiple armed robberies on campus and in surrounding neighborhoods this month, an NSU campus alert said Thursday. The campus police department issued the alert to students, faculty and staff.
It did not say how many robberies had taken place, exactly where they happened, or what day they occurred.
The robbers took cash, cell phones and personal items. University police have increased patrols, the alert said.
The suspects were described as black males between the ages of 15 and 20. They approached victims displaying handguns or implying that they had handguns, the alert said.
Norfolk police are assisting university police. Police asked that anyone with information about the robbers call Norfolk State University police at (757) 823-8102.

Must be a typo somewhere. Guns aren't allowed on campus, so how can the robbers have guns? Doesn't make any sense!
Man just next door. I hadn't heard of this. 'course I don't watch too much tv either.
It actually is legal to carry on NSU property. In VA the only college/university that is illegal to carry at is VCU. Now the administration may kick you out of school, but in a situation like this I sure would be carrying!
Protection is a responsibility not just a right.
I used to get worthless warnings such as those when I attended VCU. But VCU is the only uni specifically enumerated in the Virginia Code as off-limits to carry. Richmond at the time was ranked third in the country on the list of America's most dangerous cities. That was also when VCU felt the need to finally arm campus police.
