Home invasion victim recipient of drive-by shooting

Little Rock, Arkansas: A guy defends himself by killing a thug, and his buddies pull a drive-by on his house the next day:

Shots Fired at House Where Homeowner Killed Intruder - todaysthv.com | KTHV | Little Rock, AR

Neighbors say it happened as they watched TV Tuesday night, five shots fired at the home two men tried to break into Monday morning.
19-year-old Roderick Jacobs was killed Monday morning when police say he and another man kicked in the kitchen door of the home on Rosemont. The homeowner fired several shots but only Jacobs was hit.

"I guess they came back and tried to retaliate or something. Something happened," Shaun Clouse wonders if everything is over now, or if more shots will be fired tonight.

In April of 2007, he spent five days in the Pulaski County Jail for burglary.

In August 2007, police arrested Jacobs again for burglary.
In April 2008, he was released after 72 days in jail, one of the charges, possession of a firearm
In May police arrested Jacobs again, and again he is armed with a gun.

Jacobs was released after another arrest with a firearm only a month before his death Monday morning. Police say Jacobs was armed with his own gun when he was shot by the homeowner.

To be expected, but what's a guy gonna do? Cooperate with the home invaders? No. Shoot to survive, then deal with the aftermath later.

I don't have any good answers other than to hunt down the perps who did the drive-by. Er, I mean, let the police hunt down the perps who did the drive-by.

If they come back for another home invasion, this is where a homeowner might favor an AK/AR.

Sounds like this one is going to get ugly.

So.....one has to ask themselves, 'why would any ordinary law-abiding American citizen ever need an automatic, or semi-automatic firearm in defense of themselves'? I gang land territory? 'And to take away the power of the people to arm themselves under such attacks', should be construed as the government's unwillingness to stand by the people which they have been sworn to protect. I guess we'll all have to do it on our own, and let no one stand in the way.

Wow, kind of one of those nightmare scenarios where they come back for retaliation...I guess not all that surprising though.

I might just move at that point.

By shooting and killing their fellow man, the criminal, by street code and principal retribution must be made. The prior minding his own business victim has now become to the eye and mind of the criminals to be a 'bad guy'.

So they cannot let his GG insolence by action and to their mind _murder_ of their comrade go unanswered. To do so would be a sign of weakness for them on the streets, and their leader would require same or otherwise expose himself to potential of a coup by his own crew and/or some others from the outside. That cannot be tolerated, either.
So, the formerly good guy citizen is now on the streets known as a bad guy and no dobt there is a bounty on his head as well. Placed either by the dead BGs comrades and/or even by his own blood family members and/or the actions of the BG comrades openly endorsed by the dead BGs family.

This is how it goes and is real world mentality, on the streets amongst street aligned and associated people.

It doesn't matter if The Street happens to be colored black, brown, white, dirt, clay, sandy or if it speaks some tongue other than English measuring blood by the liter and a pound of flesh by the kilogram.
East coast, west coast, 'dirty south', or wherever. That's the way it goes, everywhere. Welcome to the world as THEY see things.

You happen to be fortunate enough to survive your victimization, and in the process wound or worse take down one of their own. It is ins ones best interest to expect retribution. If it never comes then well happy days.
But in the days, weeks, and yes even months after an interaction such as this it would be best to keep these words in mind.

Little Rock is having some serious problems with gang bangers.

The LRPD Gang Unit is very, very busy these days. Shootings are common enough now that they receive little fanfare.

You cant imagine the storys that I have heard from people living there that come to our CHL classes. In the worst parts of town, people actually put their washers and driers and even refrigerators on their porches to stop random bullets from going though their houses.

Its a ridiculous way to have to live. Until these thugs are hunted down like animals and properly removed from society, it will only continue to get worse.

I see no other answer to this problem. All other efforts will only result in more innocents being killed.

Are any anti gun folks taking notes that criminals don't follow the law. After his extensive record and little punishment it took an ordinary citizen to take this scum out. Amazing.

If the system is going to keep releasing scum like this back out on the street, the least they could do is tag the idiots with a transmitter like they do other wild animals to track their movements. At least then we would know where they hide out at night and they could go flush out the whole nest.

We had a local Sheriff here actually do this and 41 arrest were made in a very short time. That's 41 illegal weapons off the street. Only 20 million to go. LOL!!

I have a feeling though as soon as the ACLU gets wind of this they will shut him down. The ACLU will call it racial profiling, never mind it's latino's and white kids that are being arrested as well.
