But wait! Why would someone as big as a NFL player ever "need" a gun! Guns are for the weak and useless!

...NFL security has been informed of the incident, league spokesman Greg Aiello said, according to Newsday. "We're aware of the situation," he said.

    Too bad Steve Smith wasn't...

This guy can spot 'bullet passes' in dim light...spot possible tacklers a few feet ahead, but he isn't aware of someone sneaking up on him near his home?

    Stay armed...know your surroundings...stay safe!

These guys are sitting ducks. All the thugs know they carry lots of cash and jewelry. They know their travel schedule. They know (if they obey the law) they can't bring their gun to work (at least that is the deal in FL).

I just wish an NFL player would be "caught" in a justified shooting. So far all we have is Plaxico junk. It is time for some sane reporting on hte player's side of this.

There is a decent article in this months ESPN magazine about NFL players, and has interviews with a few who carry (legally) and why. Its a pretty good read.

I really wish this read "WR beats holy crap out of would be robber. Suspect charged with numerous felony counts and being held without bail."

This must be the year to target the NFL. I'd be interested to find out the percentage of other pro sports and crimes against them. I doubt the NHL has this many problems, they probably do beat the crap out of the BG. The NBA is already full of thugs, so they are out. Golfers don't hang around the places other pro athletes do, so they are out.

Just curious why the NFL has so many stories....
