    Chaulk one up for the good guys..

    Here's a news release from today in Hopkinsville Kentucky (western side of the gun loving Commonwealth).

    ALAN WATTS Reporting

    A BLUFF SPRINGS ROAD MAN IS RECOVERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND TO HIS STOMACH AFTER HE GOT INTO A VERBAL ALTERCATION AT HIS HOME, INVADED A NEARBY HOME AND ATTEMPTED TO ROB THE PERSON WHO WAS HOUSE SITTING.

    CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT SPOKESMAN CAPTAIN CHRIS MILLER SAYS THE INCIDENT BEGAN MONDAY NIGHT WHEN 42 YEAR-OLD LARRY D. PHILLIPS OF BLUFF SPRINGS ROAD GOT INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH HIS FAMILY. HE REPORTEDLY LEFT THE HOUSE, FIRED TWO GUNSHOTS IN THE WOODS NEARBY. HIS MOTHER CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE, WITH DEPUTIES UNABLE TO FIND HIM WHEN THEY ARRIVED.

    MEANWHILE AROUND 9:40 DEPUTIES RECEIVED A REPORT THAT LARRY PHILLIPS HAD ENTERED THE HOME AT 2005 CARL SMITH ROAD THROUGH THE BACK DOOR. WHILE INSIDE THE HOME PHILLIPS POINTED A MODIFIED SHOTGUN AT 18 YEAR-OLD DEANDREA GRIMES, WHO WAS REPORTEDLY HOUSE-SITTING FOR THE HOME OWNERS. POLICE SAY WHEN GRIMES TOLD PHILLIPS HE HAD NO MONEY, PHILLIPS FIRED A SHOT ABOVE GRIMES’ HEAD INTO THE CEILING. WHILE PHILLIPS WAS ATTEMPTING TO RELOAD HIS SHOTGUN, POLICE SAY GRIMES GRABBED A HANDGUN AND BEGAN SHOOTING AT PHILLIPS. PHILLIPS WAS FOUND BY POLICE OUTSIDE THE HOUSE WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE STOMACH. HE WAS TAKEN TO JENNIE STUART MEDICAL CENTER WHERE HE UNDERWENT SURGERY.

    CAPTAIN TIM COOKSEY SAYS PHILLIPS WILL BE ARRESTED WHEN HE LEAVES THE HOSPITAL AND WILL BE CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED ROBBERY FIRST DEGREE, ATTEMPTED MURDER AND BURGLARY FIRST DEGREE.

    way to go deandrea! i hope she won't be sued by the family for shooting their precious son!

    Good for Deandrea, Too bad the BG will recover and the state will have to feed and cloth him for the 6 months he's in jail, if that long.

    Oh sure the the state will feed and house him, but the jail he will vacation in is state of the art with no frills. Food cost is around $2.50 a day. No steak tartar on the menu. Here in Kentucky I think the state reimburses for ammo expense. If they don't, they should!
