    Good: Pizza Deliverman Shoots Robber

    Not many details yet....

    Pizza Deliveryman Shoots Would-Be Robber

MCKEEES ROCKS, Pa. -- A violent showdown happened Friday night between a pizza deliveryman and a would-be robber.

Police said they are investigating a shooting where a pizza deliveryman shot a would-be robber multiple times in front of 807 Gray Street in the Meyers Ridge complex in McKees Rocks just after 8 p.m.

The would-be robber was alert and conscious when medics arrived at the scene. Medics transported the shooting victim to Allegheny General Hospital.
my only issue with this is: how did the thief turn into the victim?

Is there anything more dangerous then delivering pizza? What a job to have.
After being shot multiple times the BG should have gone to the morgue, someone needs some range time.

    right to defend?

Yesterday I read on this forum "you cannot use deadly force to defend property". How can a pizza delivery person defend himself against "robbery?"

I think this BG may have been one of the victims of an improper education, he probably thought the logo on the delivery man's jacket read "Pizza Hut Pizza" where actually it read "Pistol Packing Pizza"
The first time you aren't armed and prepared may be the last time you wished you were.

Note to self: Don't deliver pizzas or try to rob the delivery person!

+1 I was about to bring that point up. And it isn't just a Texas thing, the way I understand it, that is the whole point behind the CASTLE doctrine. Not just my house, but my vehicle, my family, my person, and incidentally, my friend's or neighbor's life and/or property (i.e. a innocent 3rd person under attack by a BG).

Last year we had 2 pizza delivery guys robbed in 14 hours, both by the same group of teens with a stolen gun.they would call in orders to real addresses but not their own of course. First guy have it all up and survived, second one tried to fight back and was shot dead. The kids were treated by some as the victims because of bad home life, I don't recall the sentence but all faced and were convicted of adult crime and got prision.

On another note, more dangerous, driving taxi. I did that for a week as a second job, made good money, but quite a few times I was very uncomfortable with my passengers

Next time I order pizza - I'll make sure the delivery guy isn't packing more than my pizza.

Either that or I will just shake his hand, and say, "stay safe and carry a GLOCK"
