Sounds like the perfect BG Christmas to me...

Finally somewhere to dump that gun I used in a crime last week...no questions asked right?
I'm glad I won't be around San Diego or Kommiefornia much longer.

I've never quite figured out why pro-2Aers criticize gun buy-backs so diligiently.
Nothing else in the anti-gun tool box adversely affects lawful gun owners so little. Arguably, the effect on us is zero. Possibly, it is a net positive, though that is very unlikely.
I heartily favor buybacks such as the one cited in the OP. I think the benefit is tiny (still positive) and doesn't hurt me one darn bit. I think they should have as many of San Diego style buy-backs as possible.

So, does this organization have an FFL providing legal permission to purchase and store large quantities of firearms in the socialist state of Kalifornia. Will all purchases be cleared through the same system you and I must go through.
I suppose they will cleanse them and pass them back out next week to their private Army.
This for some reason fails to enhance my Holiday mood.

So the fact that these encourage crime doesn't bother you? Personally other than that, I think that these are "feel good" measures that accomplish next to nothing. Also it seems to be an approach that demonizes guns, as if guns are responsible for murders and not the people using the guns -- and I think THAT is a very irresponsible approach.
Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.

FWIW, it's been raining in San Diego all day long. Fear of getting wet is big here... unless you're a surfer.

Perfect chance to dump that Lorcin or Raven.
Here in Phoenix, guys set up across the street and offer cash for the good ones.

I have wondered if anyone had done that before. How do the local police or government react?

I wonder if the poster with a Jennings lives in SD. That would be a good way to get rid of it and make some cash.

I'd love to know if the serial numbers are run and the guns returned to their rightful owners? You know, the people whom they were stolen from in the first place?
Sounds like a great racket to me; steal a gun, rob a store, turn in the gun and get more cash with no questions asked. Now I will go turn over a new leaf and never commit crime again.

Gee, I've got a couple of wall-hanger .32s I'd give up for $50 or $100 gift cards...these things spit more lead sideways than they do down range!

INvestment oppurtunity
Once turned in 6 mossin guants 1913's bought for 59 at 200 a pop and went back to the gun store the next day to buy what I wanted. Only one officer at the buy back realized the profit i was making and just looked miffed about it. I figured hey they offered I'll take the oppurtunity.
