Dramatic Video of Customer Shooting Robbery Suspect

OCOEE, FL -- A convenience store customer had only seconds to act, before making a life or death decision. Monday night, he found himself standing between a clerk and a bottle-wielding robber.

The customer, who asked that he be identified only as Chris, says he walked into the store Monday night in Ocoee, when he saw two suspicious men. When he went outside, he heard screams for help.

Inside, one of the men was beating the clerk with a bottle.

Chris says he told the assailant he had a gun, but the man turned toward him.

He fired two shots, killing the suspect.

"I feel very shaken. I feel very glad that I was here, that I could help my friend because I come to this store. I've lived in Ocoee for 20 years, and I'm glad I could be here, and I'm glad I was able to help," he said.

Chris said he doesn't consider himself him a hero.

"I saw a lady that was in distress and I came in and took the action that I thought was necessary," he said. "Hearing a lady scream to where it sounds like bloody murder to where I thought she was going to be killed, I decided to help the lady. I've known her for years. She's a friend of mine, and I wanted to go in and help."

Investigators said the one suspect shot was killed, and two other people are sought in the case. Police identified the deceased as Freddie Carson, 40, of Orlando.

Ocoee police say the shooting remained under investigation Tuesday to determine whether the circumstances support criminal charges.

Under Florida law, use of deadly force is allowed to stop a forcible crime, such as murder, robbery, or rape, even if the gun owner is not directly threatened.

Sounds like a good shoot in FL. This guy freaks out on the video (understandable).

Why is store video such bad quality? The quality is just terrible! If they are interested enough to install video equipment, why can't they get something worthwhile??????
