North Carolina: Franklin County family fears gunfire outside

From the way this story reads it sounds like some very irresponsible target shooters.

Louisburg, N.C. — Jackie Kent said she and her family are afraid of the gunfire around their Franklin County home, and authorities can’t do much to help.

Kent said she frequently hears gunshots in the distance from her Westwind Lane home.

“It sounds exactly like a war zone,” Kent said.

Recently, those shots have gotten closer, and one left a bullet hole in her roof.

“We could hear the loud fire of the gun and immediately you would hear this zip going through the air,” Kent said.

Kent’s husband, Joe, removed the bullet.

Deputies have been out to investigate three times.

It is idiots like those, that make all gun owners look bad. Hopefully the LEO's will do something about it before somebody gets hurt.

That's one side of the story ...

We have an outdoor range here (trap, skeet, rifle, pistol) that was getting complaints from one neighbor who tried to get the range closed.
The other neighbors, farmers, couldn't care less.

When the county came to check, the level of noise from the range, at that house, was less than the vehicles on the highway.
It appears that house had been recently purchased from people from up North ... just sayin'

People move to the Countyr to get away from all the pressures of City life then try to apply City rules to those that were in the country long before them.

During season it is legal to shoot Deer, Elk or whatever season is open for within 1/4 mile of my home. It is legal year round to target practice the same distance away and I do.

If you don't like the sound of gunfire you better not move close to me.

should of heard all the shooting in my neighbor hood newyear's eve(hundred's of rounds fired) and I live in city limit's with 2 cops as neighbors one was on duty the other one told me to stay inside " no kidding" duh. I would think living in the country you would hear more gun shots because it legal.
