A shooting? In the UK? I thought the gun confiscation was supposed to have taken care of that.
When in doubt empty the magazine.

Ahhhh the problem we have is the eastern european problem and stupid liberals who have let any EU citizen reside in our green and pleasant country.
As you might be aware, eastern europe and some of the former soviet countries went through a lot of upheaval when the USSR broke up.
Arms flow into this country almost unchecked (AKs Pistols etc)
Recently our customs (they carry out duties that your ATF do)
Stopped a flow of a russian auto pistols that were made to fire an 8mm flare or gas round.
Some enterprising eastern europeans converted them to 9mm, threaded the barrel and supplied them to any wanna be gangster with 50 rds and a SILENCER for 2250 ($3500)
‘Merchant of death’ jailed over imports of converted pistols - Times Online

Thats the problem with europe so close, anything can get into the UK, travelling to europe via boat or trains is so easy.

PS Very few police are armed, I would guess less than 10%

    Tint Bob,

There was an article in the Guardian about that problem in August; it was good enough that I bookmarked the link:

Firearms: cheap, easy to get and on a street near you | UK news | The Guardian

The problem is, any halfway decent machinist could make a functional revolver or semi-auto if the present source somehow dried up (Good luck, you may need to move your island ). Heck, I bet most of us could make a bang-stick. Much better than a knife at contact distance.

    Almost forgot, didn't you.
Last November shows that they've been fairly successful at that already without even outlawing it.

There must be something wrong with this story... a joke, a farce, something! This can't be!
