Video - Bank Robber Shot By Security Guard

This is a fatal shootout between a robber and a security guard. Watch the counter in the top right corner - the SWAT team arrives over an hour and a half later.

LiveLeak.com - Police release bank robbery/fatal shootout video

I thought it was interesting how they used a flashbang to see if the robber was feigning death.

I believe that the police arrived and cordoned off the building, swat may of been outside for quite awhile prior to entering the building, they don't know if the have a live or dead robber and ain't in no hurry to get in a shootout

Hmmm, yes, I assumed the SWAT team would just enter ASAP; it didn't occur to me that they might have been waiting outside for a period of time first. There is no way to tell from the video.

Yea, there is nearly 2 hours of video cut out. Look at the time in the upper right- the robbery starts at 2:05 pm then it cuts to the SWAT entry at 3:52 pm.

very interesting vid. Thanks for posting.

I hate how there is no audio.

Good job Mr. Security Guard! Thank God he was allowed to be armed... unlike the poor old guy at one bank here.

The customer who was at the other teller does some interesting stuff. He hits the deck very quickly when the robbery starts (good for him!), but I don't see him exit until 3:04. It looks like he was hiding on the floor for an hour while the BG was bleeding to death. hmm....

    Was that a flash bang??????

I could hear the audio goes like this and strangely all the voices sounded like John Cleese or Eric Idol "he's hasn't been bleeding for two hours yet ... we need to disorient him ... quick throw a grenade see if he moves ... tactical formation ready ... rush!! ... hey, Norman he is dead you can turn your flashlight off now"

I am glad no innocents were hurt in this production.

Watch the video again and pay attention to the drive-up window around the 2:47 time stamp. Movement is evident outside.

one note: The picture quality is excellent. However, it appears the camera was more setup to watch the staff vs. the customers. Maybe they had another angle.

Good shooting by the security guard.

That wouldn't have happened at my bank: no security guard present.

I'm not surprised. Theft by tellers is a much greater threat than bank robbery is.

the first thing i notice is after clearing the railing the BG lays his gun down on the table and doesnt even look around him for a threat. he even left his gun laying at the first register when he moves to the second and has to RUN back to his gun to pick it up and fire at the security guard.

if anyone had been carrying a gun, especially one of the two clerks that ran out after he begain grabbing the money, they could have easily shot him in the side of the head.
