Tomlin was arrested six times since 2006 on charges including aggravated battery and violating probation, state records show.

"I don't believe he did it. He wasn't the type to get in trouble. He got along with everybody," said Tomlin's cousin, Kena Robinson, 30. "Whenever he wasn't at home watching my kids, he was at the labor pool."

Denial is wonderful isn't it? Tomlin is where he belongs now.

The disclaimer in the Newsday poll says, "not scientific". Hmmm. The numbers look pretty scientific and convincing to me.

"I don't believe he did it. He wasn't the type to get in trouble. He got along with everybody," said Tomlin's cousin, Kena Robinson, 30. "Whenever he wasn't at home watching my kids, he was at the labor pool."
She's probably right. The teacher went out onto his front yard at 2 AM. Forced him into the house at gun point and shot him, then shot up the insides of the house and placed a .40 cal gun in his hand. He set the poor guy up just so he could target practice!

It was as a teacher that he excelled, his students' parents said.

Miller bragged that he ran his band with military precision, saying he brought students in line by ordering them to do push-ups.

"The parents call me: 'So-and-so needs push-ups,' " Miller once said.

"He reminds you of how the teachers were back in the days," said Latracia Hayes, whose son Jacoby was in the band for part of this school year. "He understands the kids."

Catharine Darant said she sat down with teachers, including Miller, after her 14-year-old son Derick's grades started slipping. She said the band teacher applied just the right amount of pressure, warning Derick that if his grades continued to fall, he would have to quit playing.

"That's one of the reasons my son is keeping his grades up, so he can stay in the band," Darant said, calling Miller "very influential."
It's a shame, you get a teacher that really cares about the kids, and from what the article says, is able to reach out and make a difference. Now through no fault of his own that may be over. I hope he is able to put his life back together and continue on with his good work.

yea, great poll with lots of pictures of the teacher, his house, and even a map if you'd like to go say hello.

I had an employee of mine killed during a drug deal over a year ago. They dumped him on a vacant lot. He was a family man and had 9 knods. Despite the fact that we all liked him, even I knew he would end up that way eventually.

Prior arrests are USUALLY and indicator of future behavior, especially when things get rough. The disbelief if either contrived or just ignorance.

I'd hire the teacher in a heartbeat.

Sounds like the home intruder got what he deserved.

    Cool

    quotes:
Tomlin's friend and roommate, said they often would sit up nights sipping beers and spinning freestyle rap lyrics.
"Last time I saw him was 2 a.m. this morning. "We were all sitting down, drinking, and then all of a sudden he came and got his beer and said, 'I'll be right back.

"I don't believe he did it. He wasn't the type to get in trouble. He got along with everybody," said Tomlin's cousin, Kena Robinson, 30

He'd have been better off sitting on his tush and finishing the beer there. "I'll be right back", he says. Yeah, you bet.
His cousin doesn't think he did it, but he's laying dead, with a gun, with a mask on in a neighbors house on the floor. OK......

sounds like a good shoot to me.
