Man, I'm fed up too, with ranchers on stolen Mexican land, land stolen to make room for more slave plantations, on land where Indians were massacred.

Those damn Mexican peasants, thrown off their own Mexican land by the two corporate parties' NAFTA, which destroyed the Mexican farming sector, who don't pay 1000 times their hourly salary and fill out forms to be denied legal entry or to be shown work on land in California that was stolen from them, where they can work for less than minimum wage, live in clapboard shacks, be deported for trying to unionize or killed by pesticides sprayed on them as they work the fields.

Those beaners, what will they want next!

I agree. We should give the whole country back to the original owners.

OH -- Wait a minute!! That wouldn't be the Mexicans (Spaniards) though, since they stole it from the Aztecs and Mayans.

Well, the Zapatistas sure are nice....they'll probably let most of the mestizos and europeans stay.....

...of course most of the mexicans look like they're out of central casting for a south of the border version of "dances with wolves", so giving the country back shouldn't be too much of a problem.

...kind of like what's happening in Bolivia...now there's a real government!

My comment was only to illustrate that trespassing on private property is not the same as breaking and entering.

If you want to draw parallels to support your position, lets call a spade a spade - they were trespassers, not burglars.
maybe they hopped the fence to go burglarize someone further along.or sell their drugs further inland.
are we allowed to protect our borders or not...has to start somewhere. sheeees. anyone can see this

Errrr...we didn't steal it from them, we took it by force!

If they want it back, they can come and try and take it the same way we did. Good luck to them with that!

And how did a liberal get on a gun forum?? Oh, wait, you are from northern Illinois! That explains a lot!

The government, legislators and their sympathizers keep pushing ordinary law abiding citizens into circumstances that eventually causes one to get jammed up in a litigation scenario and then they get hammered in court.

Why are we even allowing illegal aliens the right to sue U.S. property owners for defending their property from invasion, vandalism and the promotion of criminal activity.

They break the law, vandalize property, damage or kill livestock, tear down fences and then are granted immunity and given payola to testify against a U.S. Citizen or granted the right to sue a U.S. Citizen is ridiculous.

A lone 60 yr old rancher stumbles into a group of 12-20 young illegals on his property... how is that not a threat to the rancher?

How many of them are armed with even an improvised weapon? Who is the dangerous smuggler in the group leading the way through your property?

My nephew is a Border Patrol Agent who spent 5 years on the Mexican border in Naco Az. before transferring to the northern border has had many discussions with me on the topic of the border incursions and it is a dangerous situation for all involved.

It is no less dangerous for the U.S. property owners and ranchers as it is for the law enforcement officers who patrol it.

The government should be providing relief and assistance to the property owners instead of allowing them to be sued in court by illegals invading our country.

I am totally on the side of the ranchers and property owners who are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

There is a simmering cauldron of rage building up in the country by the citizens and one day it will either boil over or we'll roll over and succumb to the left wing socialists. One or the other.

My personal hopes is that we don't die a slow death like Canada, Great Britain and Australia.

When the government came for their guns, they screamed and hollered a lot, but in the end, they just rolled over and gave up the guns.

Not a good pattern I'm seeing develop.
I lived 3 years in Aussie, 30 each in the UK and Canada, (I am 73) the difference in the US of A, a Constitution, and Americans do not roll over and play dead like the citizens of the above named countries.

How you can sue in an American Court, when you are not legally in the Country, as a legal visitor or legal resident baffles me.

Man, you sound just like an Israeli settler. Too bad there are a lot more Mexicans than bubbas down there, I don't think things are going to go well for your kind in the next 50 years.

I'm a leftist, not a liberal. A comrade of mine, Hunter Gray, reintroduced me to guns- he was a civil rights organizer in the Deep South and Chicago and had occasion to ward off ignorant violent racists with firearms back in the day.

You don't think things are going to go well for OUR kind? The backlash against illegals is growing stronger. The people would not tolerate the Bush amnesty policy and things are getting worse. In Arizona, we have enacted stronger laws to rid America of the scourge of illegals.

Americans are getting the short end of the stick again. Once this war in Irac is over the US should send the troops to the border to help the Border Patrol. This judgment is way out of line. the aliens were trespassing and were in this country illegally. Will there be any taxes taken out of this judgment.

    Oh darn.

And here I was ready to post some historical facts about how the U.S. won the Mexican-American War, and how The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, signed on February 2, 1848 by American diplomat Nicholas Trist, ended the war and gave the U.S. undisputed control of Texas, established the U.S.-Mexican border of the Rio Grande River, and ceded to the United States the present-day states of California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. In return, Mexico received US $18,250,000—less than half the amount the U.S. had attempted to offer Mexico for the land before the opening of hostilities—and the U.S. agreed to assume $3.25 million in debts that the Mexican government owed to U.S. citizens.

    Back to topic.
