Gun buyback editorial shows bias
Re: The editorial "Don't micromanage gun buybacks," Feb. 19:
On the subject of localities buying back firearms, I have read where virtually every buyback program nationwide is in violation of federal law. The only way to be in compliance would be to have a federally licensed dealer conduct the transaction.
Gun buyback programs are unnecessary and have never reduced crime after implementation. These programs are, at their core, unconstitutional. They are forced on law-abiding citizens by liberal politicians.
The author makes a sophistic and poor attempt at humor in the beginning of the editorial. The imputed support for hunters or collectors and demonization of any other firearms ownership demonstrates a complete bias against gun ownership for any purpose. The editorial displays phobias not based in reality.
