[BAD]Shooting at shopping center in Lexington, KY - At Least 1 Hit

UPDATED: Police investigating shooting at Lexington Green; suspect barricaded at Charter Ridge - Top story - Kentucky.com

Lexington police are investigating a shooting at a shopping plaza.

The shooting occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Lexington Green, Lexington police spokeswoman Ann Gutierrez said.

No information about the shooting victim was available.

Lexington Police officers worked the area of a shooting in the parking lot at Lexington Green outside the Orvis entrance.

Gutierrez said the shooter "left the Lexington Green area and officers pursued him or her to the Charter Ridge area."

The suspect was barricaded in a vehicle, Gutierrez said.

Greg Derossett, who lives on Santa Fe Court, said he heard the sirens so he ran over to Charter Ridge. Derossett says he saw a guy with a gun with to his head.

Officers have blocked off the area near Charter Ridge, which is on Rio Dosa Drive and Man o' War Boulevard.

School buses have been routed away from the area.

At about 4:10 p.m., Lexington police called in the Emergency Response Unit. More than a dozen officers stormed the area with bullet-proof shields.

I will never understand when a suspect takes himself hostage why they don't move in It's not like he's actually holding a real hostage,Remember the movie (Blazing Saddles)
