I know! What a great way to stimulate the economy! (and what a great way to gather up enough funds to buy more guns and ammo with)

First of all, Bagdad is not secure.

I just got home after spending a month on the Mexican Border. The buildup of forces and technology there is is incredible. The roads and the backcountry are crawling with law enforcement. I had a long conversaton with two officers I encountered while backpacking there. (I was caught by electronic surveillance and they came to check it out) As they see it, as long as people in the US continue to buy drugs on the black market, there will be those who come. The answer is to decriminalize marijuana like we did liquor and put an end to the bootlegging. This would put a real crimp on the cartels in Mexico and give law enforcement on both sides the break they need. They also were strongly in favor of some sort of true immigration reform that would crack down on employers and create an enforcable guest worker program.

I was a bit suprised to hear this from enforcement folks, but I must say I entirely agree.

They have a wall where I was that is 10 feet high. It is breached, burrowed under, and climbed over every day. The backcountry is trashed - there are tons of garbage along the trails consisting of food wrappers, cans, plastic water bottles, broken bicycles, and Pampers left by mothers carrying babies. It's a mess.

Not sure decriminalizing marijuana is the answer, how do you regulate it? Do you tax it? Does it become another cash crop like tobacco? If you make it legal and try to regulate it, your just going to have legal pot that no one wants and the same system of selling pot from Mexico that is in place now.

Reagan pardoned illegals in the 80s, it's not just a lib issue, it's a function of not being able to round up, deport and keep out 11 million people as much as I wish we could. The rancher in AZ who got sued for stopping illegals on his property is the latest example of how bad working class Americans are losing this fight in our own home, we're just going to get screwed by folks in DC half of whom can't even name two states that share a border with Mexico.

I didn't say anthing about pardons. Thats a different issue entirely.

If you want to see a similar situation to the one we have now just look at the history of prohibition. There are still a few bootleggers today, but for the most part the sale of alcohol in liquor stores with hefty regulation and taxes has worked. We could certainly use the taxes right now.

Nope. Legalize it & tax it just like they do cigs. Weed without DDT would be a selling point. Mex weed might be cheaper in that situation, but not by much.

'Course, I also believe that if you receive your "Registered Doper Card" you should be RFID chipped with an "Ineligible for public assistence/healthcare" message. Abuse becomes self-regulating.

I've said it before... we as a nation will either roll over with a whimper or there's gonna be an explosion.

The pressure is building and the lid is screwed on tight. Something is going to happen in the next generations time.

And it scares the crap out of me.... because it appears to be leaning towards the explosion rather than the whimper.

I'd much rather avoid the revolt, but I'm not going out with a whimper so I sit and I wait and hope I vote for people in government who can collectively come to their senses. Because what we have now in government Is Not a Fair Representation of The Majority!

    Remember the Alamo

illegals and the MS 13 are a plague from h@ll. proof beyond a doubt that if your guns are wrenched from your paws, they may take over w/o firing a shot. I love good ole America, and the rights we have. yet, they want to take guns from us law-abiding cits and leave the druggies, the dometic violence and the gangs w/o a scratch. get rid of those 3 problems and we are looking GOOOOOOOOOOOD.

This guys illegal family will be granted amnesty by our Pres. In fact he will give 20 million illegals amnesty and then the Libs will have 20 mill more voters. Makes perfect sense to me.
Besides Houston, I hear they are in Atlanta already. You can't walk in Tucson at night. When will it ever end?

    Really bad.

I hope Officer Salter makes it.

The crime in sanctuary cities, by illegal aliens is appalling.

A couple years ago, a Denver* Police officer was shot in the back by an illegal, who was employed in a restaurant, owned by of all people, the Mayor of Denver!

They tracked the scumbag all the way from Denver thru LA & into Mexico. The Mexican government would not extradite the scumbag until the State of Colorado took the Death Penalty off the table.

*Denver & Houston are sanctuary cities.

What kind of chutzpah does it take for another country to try to manipulate us like that? I guess not that much, if it works. DOES EVERYONE REALIZE JUST HOW RIDICULOUS THIS IS? That Mexico can tell us what to do on this, and we DO IT?

Folks, it is way past time for a tea party.
Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.

It's reported that in 4 decades from now, America would not regognizable at this current rate of things... what then is left I wander. I blame our so called "leaders" more than the illegal aliens !!!

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

Blaming Mexico is just a smoke screen. Illegals come to work because US employers hire them. Smugglers bring in dope because US consumers buy it.

No kidding. I lived in Phoenix for 3 years. There was a small town called Guadalupe and it was supposed to be a small indian reservation village. The illegals basically took it over. They were standing on every major corner in town looking for work and I couldn't go through that area without being harassed.
