CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Authorities say a Cape Coral man was injured after striking bullets with a hammer in his driveway.

Police say they received a report of a possible shooting at 21-year-old Matthew F. Dugger's home on Thursday afternoon. When officers arrived, they found the man had been injured.

Dugger was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for shrapnel that hit his leg. It wasn't clear if he faces any charges.

As much as I hate to admit it I have done that very same thing too. However, I was like only "8" (not 21 with a drivers license) and told that I could not take my .22 rifle outside if my parents were not home, they DID'NT say anything about the rounds. Anyway, hitting .22's with a hammer on the back porch was a lot of fun as I recall and it was going really well ... until, one round decided to somehow bounce off of two trees, the 'ole barn, my dads tractor, my brand new Murry 3-speed, the back of the house and skid across the right side of my neck, brush my right arm and as I recall came to rest inches from my mom's new car. Needless to say after stopping the bleeding my days of doing really stupid stuff ended, well it slowed down anyway. Kids don't try this at home, after all I am a trained professional.

    Ridgeline,

You have any fuzzy memories of taping a shotgun shell to the end of a BB gun?

Cause your .22 story sounds familar>

No, but if you try it (again) can I video your experience. From about 1/4 mile away. Sounds like fun...

Ok, now I'm curious about the BB deal. I've got an idea of what happened, but I'm not quite sure if a hospital visit was necessary in your experience, but I wouldn't be surprised!

Hey Dude got an idea, "if" guns are outlawed we can most likely keep all of our ammo, and most likely our "Red Rider" BB guns too ... so with a little Scotch tape we now have an instant 12, 20 and .410 but also .25, .32, .380, .38, .357, 9mm, 40 S&W, .357 Sig, .45, 44 Mag ... well y'all get the picture. And best of all no rifling.

Someone let me know how this works out for ya!
