Employees subdue would-be robber

Police say a 23-year-old Amarillo man robbed the Market Street United store this morning with a BB gun.

The man entered the store at 2530 S. Georgia St. around 5 a.m.

Police say the man threatened two female employees with the gun and forced them into the manager’s office. He ordered one woman to the floor and told the other to “Get him some cash,” police Sgt. Brent Barbee said.

When he attempted to leave the store with an undisclosed amount of money, three other employees at the store realized a robbery was occurring and subdued the man. He was held until police arrived.

The man was booked into the Potter County jail on a charge of aggravated robbery.
No injuries were reported and the money was recovered.

I hope he got thumped. He probably won't do much time, so I hope they got him good.

I hope they did more than just 'thump' him...I hope he has to spend a great deal of time to recuperate...too bad someone didn't have a sidearm to end this BG's future crime sprees permanently.
