Concealed Carry Letter to the Editor

Voice of the people - The Herald Dispatch

This was in my local newspaper. At least this guy has some sense to know that concealed carry would have saved lives.

    Concealed carry could prevent massacres
I heard a psychiatrist on a cable news channel say the media should not reveal the names of these mass killers or reprehensible criminals. These losers want recognition.

Thus, if the unethical, competing and irresponsible media would quit glorifying these cowards' names, they will remove a crucial motivation. I believe most are not mental cases because they take their own life knowing the consequences that are forthcoming.

What happens instead you have these liberal clowns advocating it was lack of gun control that is to blame. When you have seconds to react and the police are minutes away, guess who wins? Remember, most criminals are cowards preying on the defenseless. However, if they think someone is carrying (concealed carry permit), they would not take the chance. When was the last time you heard of an off-duty cop being robbed? The moral rot of this society continues.

The only thing that would be worse than reporting the names and details of mass-killers would be giving the media an excuse not to report SOME names and details. Then we'd hear about the nutjob in Pittsburgh, but not the guys in Oakland and Binghamton, because the latter are members of 'protected' classes.

This has already happened with local reporting on smaller-scale violent crime; where details of crimes and criminals are concealed unless the perpetrator is a member of what progressives consider the 'oppressor' classes, or if the victim has the good fortune to be a good-looking, nubile blonde. (Because even progressive sensibilities don't completely overwhelm the desire for good ratings.)
