Print Email Del.icio.usDiggTechnoratiYahoo! BuzzFacebookFour people were shot dead at four separate and seemingly unrelated scenes around Houston this morning. A total of four others were wounded.

At about 4:20 a.m., a woman's 19th birthday party at B&D Sports Bar at the 12800 block of Bellaire Boulevard, just west of Dairy Ashford, ended whem a guest went outside to take a phone call and was gunned down in the strip center's parking lot, police said.

Houston police Sgt. Brian Harris said people at the private party heard gunfire and found the 22-year-old man with multiple wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no apparent motive, although Harris said it's possible the victim was mistaken for a gang member and might have been targeted.

The partygoers scattered after the shooting, and police are asking anyone who might have more information to call the police department's homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crimestoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).

Shortly after midnight, police said three people were shot in southwest Houston on South Breeze, near the intersection of South Gessner and West Bellfort. One died at the scene, and there was no other information immediately available.

Police said around 1 a.m., a traffic altercation near West Little York and Shepherd on the north side left three people shot, one of whom died at the hospital. There was no immediate word on the conditions of the other two victims.

There was another shooting death on the northwest side near Mangum at Dacoma, where the operator of a tattoo parlor was killed.

Sad, but typical. Carrying is just one defense against this sort of thing. I also try to stay away from Strip Clubs and Tattoo Parlors during the wee hours of the morning. Keep myself out of trouble.

We can't carry in bars here in WA State...

This isn't all that unusual for Houston. When I was a kid the crime rate was pretty good. But like most southern cities, it grew too fast and they weren't ready for the hoards of people moving there to find work. And add illegal aliens to the mix along with drugs and booze and you have a powder keg ready to go off. It's a shame because it is a beautiful city. I went to school in SW Houston and it was a safe place to be. Now I wouldn't think of going there without a gun and lots of ammo

    Second Triple Stabbing Rocks Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (abc40) -- Three men are recovering after being stabbed early Sunday morning at a baby shower, according to police.

Police had said the three men were in stable condition Sunday, however they said they have been uncooperative in their investigation.

Police responded to 142 Johnson St., at 4:07 a.m. for what was originally reported as a disturbance involving a gun, according to Springfield Police Department Sgt. John Delaney.

Upon their arrival, there was no disturbance and were told the residents had been hosting a baby shower and several uninvited individuals had come and were escorted out, according to Delaney.

However, two men, aged 19 and 23, later showed up at the emergency room of Mercy Medical Center 25 minutes later with severe cuts to their face and one had a stab wound to his back, according to police. The men were brought to Baystate Medical center, according to police, and allegedly said they had gone to the baby shower for several hours when a violent fight broke out. The men said other party-goers had jumped them and struck them in the face and head with beer bottles and stabbed them, according to Delaney.

While police were speaking with the two men, another victim from the baby shower arrived at Baystate with severe lacerations who claimed to be friends with the two previous victims, according to police.

The 21-year-old man said he had tried to help his friends during the fight at the shower, police said.

The incident is the second triple stabbing in as many days in what had been a violent weekend in Springfield, including the murder of 29-year-old Jose Torres early Saturday morning.

Three slashing victims not cooperating with police

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield police continue to probe the knife and beer bottle attacks that left three men with severe facial lacerations during a baby shower early Sunday morning in the Forest Park neighborhood.

One of the victims also suffered a puncture wound to the back during the disturbance that began shortly after 4 a.m. at 142 Johnson St., Sgt. John M. Delaney, aide to Police Commissioner William J. Fitchet said.

"The victims are not being very cooperative," Delaney said, adding that a woman on the scene stated she had been hosting a baby shower when uninvited guests crashed the party.

Two of the victims, one 19, the other 23, stated they were jumped by some of the party-goers, struck in the head and face with beer bottles and stabbed, Delaney said. The two went to Mercy Hospital and were taken to Baystate Medical Center because of the severity of their wounds.

A third victim, 23, told police he had been slashed while attempting to aid the two victims. That victim went to Baystate for treatment, Delaney said.

May be it's the new thing but I've had 39 birthdays and hosted at my own home two baby showers.
Never have I ever hosted muchless thought to have a "party" at my home at 4AM. Who would even attend such a get together at that hour?!

I try to stress this to my kids as they get older.
Nothing much of any good happens after midnight at any party,
Only bad things happen after 1:00 at parties. Be long gone by then.
