Wow, that is amazing. I wonder if any of the pirates were killed (the more the better, says I). The rescue of the crew member / hostage certainly does look to me like a job for a SEa, Air, and Land team!

BTW, I heard a while back that Blackwater International had a ship outfitted for counter-pirate security work, has anyone heard if they got hired?

my only thoughts are three words: SEAL Team Six

yes the crew did something, took some type of action, but the captain of the freighter is a hostage by Somalian pirates
WE NEED TO BE USING OUR MILITARY ASSETS NOW!!!

I'm so mad my blood pressure is getting up, and I had to edit this post 5 times to comply with forum rules.

they escaped in a freaking LIFE BOAT and we can't find them and take action....blows my mind

if we don't take military action to get this guy back we're gonna be living 1993 Somalia all over again, tail between our legs and showing the world we're humble, not arrogant...all that other crap that everyone is saying we should do with the international community

ok, I have to stop and go work out

This is going to be one of those situations ware they all of a sudden let the captain go and the news shows him getting off the plain and hugging his family. Awe isnít lucky that they just let him go home. And in celebration Oprah gives the whole crew puppies.

I wonder what really took place. Did a nameless agency halo jump in to the pirate strong hold and silently take the pirate organization apart one silenced .22 shot at a time. With one final attack on the holding cell with MP5 blazing. Naaaahhhh.....

We will just hear fearing for us military involvement the pirates let the captain go.

"Keel hauled" would be suitable punishment, particularly if that Gulf Of Aden ship were bound for, say, New Zealand.

If pirates are going to be tossed overboard, so should a half-ton of chum.

I guess the Navy does know where the pirates boat is, FOX is reporting that the boat is now out of gas, FBI negotiators are en route. I'm hoping that some more personnel are also on the way.

Pirates= Terrorists. Let's welcome them into the fold by including them on the list of recipients for the "War on Terror". They like American ships so much let's send a few fully armed Navy ships to their home base for Easter. I sure our Naval commanders wouldn't mind lobbing a few " Easter eggs" their way.

What ... are the families of the terrorists dickering about whether to send 'em home in pine or fir?

bording a US ship at sea is an act of war. do not treat this like a crimanal case. get the FBI out and get the armed forces acting.

How about telling the pirates that grief counsellors are being dispatched to their families to help them deal with their impending losses?

64zebra I just about fell out of my chair when I read that on Reuters! An American citizen being held hostage by Islamic militants and he has no comment! Imagine that and especially after not bowing to the Saudi King last week.
