GOOD & BAD: Pizza Delivery Man Scares Away Armed Thugs, - Calumet City, IL

Cal City pizza delivery man scares off would-be robbers / nwi.com

ALUMET CITY | Calumet City Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in the 100 block of Webb Street at 11:24 p.m. on Sunday.

Three men attempted to rob a pizza delivery man at gunpoint, Calumet City Police Commander Dan Zorzi said.

"(The victim) saw these guys approaching and got nervous," he said. "When they came up and pulled a gun, he pretended he had a gun, and they took off."

The suspects fled on foot and the victim drove off in his truck and flagged down Hammond Police at 157th Street and State Line Road, Zorzi said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Calumet City Police Department at (708) 868-2500.
It would've been better if the driver had an actual weapon, but sadly that is not allowed in BHO's home state.

Lucky that they didn't shoot and kill him.

Good thing this was a cowardly bunch.

Have you ever been to Calumet City? Delivering pizza has to be a high risk job.

Well ya' gotta' give the pizza guy extra points for having 'big ones'...
But I agree with another poster, it is probably several years in prison for pretending to have a gun when defending yourself??????
Hopefully, not...but let's not give them any more ideas.

Maybe 'pretend' is code for 'didn't have to pull it and admit he was packing.'

That the thugs fled the scene means: his threat of carrying a gun was believable enough to cause intimidation and fear in others. Do that to the cashier at the corner market, and that's armed robbery. Do that to a princely group of young church volunteers like our good Billy, Johnny and Clem, then it's not much different.

In IL, darned right this could cause "authorities" to hang him by his noogies. All for surviving an armed robbery.

    Sad, sad, sad.
