Anti-gun DC and gun owner unfriendly MD have more crime than pro-gun Virginia? Looks like more raw emotion will be coming from the Brady's as they won't be able to logically explain this other than to claim that the crime in MD and DC is all due to Virginia's gun friendly environment:

UNDATED - Some new crime statistics are out, and there is good and bad news about what is happening in local areas.

Virginia is the 14th safest state in the country, improving its
position for a fourth consecutive year. The ranking is the best the
state has had since 2001.

CQ Press, an independent publishing firm that tallies the statistics,
reported numbers based on counts of murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and vehicle theft.

Maryland has the second highest murder and robbery rate in the
country, with Baltimore being the 12th more (sic) dangerous city in
America. D.C. is the 21st most dangerous.

The safest states according to the survey are New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.

Not surprised that Maine (where I live), NH and VT are the safest. We have really great gun laws up here, except a law concerning carrying in a vehicle, but that's another story.

I'm really amazed how these retards can keep saying 'well, the solution to gun violence is not more guns', given the actual statistics. Legal gun ownership results in less violent crime.

Careful about just looking at VA/MD stats in isolation. Utah, Florida, Georgia and Kentucky, all gun friendly states are "less safe", dropping 4 to 7 positions and NY and NJ have moved up on the list by 4 spots. Neither state has recently experienced a RKBA breakthrough that I know of. Is it possible that Nebraska's fall is attributable just to the Mall shooting?

One set of statistics should not be the basis of a pro-2A argument. I'm just saying...
