Their report was more pro-gun than I thought it would be.

At least the pro gun side got a say, maybe not as much but it was something.

Yep, sort of like how a snake believes it's sensible to steal a chicken's eggs. It is sensible from the snake's viewpoint, but certainly not from the chicken's, the egg's, or the farmer's.

The segment was shorter than I expected. Maybe that's good--less time for them to do damage.

No doubt...played on the emotion. Nothing about self-defense...more a focus on the politics of the NRA, 2A, and gun ownership. Now, if I was a politician...that loves to get re-elected...and I see the line into the gunshow...

I will say this...I have difficulty with selling firearms without a background check...no different than thinking there is a level of responsibility that comes with gun ownership. 60 mins mentioned the 4 cops gunned down by a convicted felon...how did he get his guns? If stolen or bought...should the owner pay a price? Where is the accountibility?

It is indeed a vicious circle...

The 2A spokesman from Virginia did very well. Made good points, represented our side in a professional manner.
Did any one else think Senator Feinstein looked like a zombie? SCARY!!

Did anyone notice that Omar (who lost her sister at VA Tech shooting) changed his story from other night? On 20/20, he said he bought the exact same caliber glock that killed his sister. Tonight, he said he bought a glock of a larger caliber. He also changed what he paid extra for not producing an ID. He had better get his stories straight... D

Perhaps the felon bought the gun from a fellow gangster.

You can enact all the laws you want, but criminals will still get a gun on the black market.

    Silly politicians.

I liked the part where they pointed out that Obama wants to make the assault weapon ban Permanent.

I don't trust any of them.

still! not a single word on the number of people who use a firearm in self-defense.

Not a single word on how states with the least gun control are much safer than places with gun control.

They kept harping on the fact that, in Virginia you don't need a back ground check to buy a rifle~~~~ooops sorry, I mean ASSAULT RIFLE. NY doesn't even require a background check for long guns <I don't think>

Feinstein? she is just s scary wench. She has the look of someone that has been completely corrupted by power and is willing to do anything to achieve whatever goal she sets for herself, regardless of what the citizens of the country want

Agreed...I don't trust them either...but got to live with them because while they are in office...hold the purse strings and laws.

Agree as well...criminals will get guns. Hence, self defense. But can it be made harder? Seems way too easy...

Ya, ABC said they gave him $5000 to buy any weapon he wanted.......I think they gave him more like $8000, but forgot to mention the extra money.

I mean an AR-15 is selling (around here) for about $2500, then he bought 12 more weapons??? what? he bought 12 weapons for $208 EACH???? something is not adding up?

I caught that, he also said even though the VA Tech shooter didn't get his gun at a gun show the next shooter will. I guess he was looking into a crystal ball, maybe he can stop the NEXT one then. I feel bad for the victims and families that went through the horror but for the media to exploit their fear is an unconscionable act.

    Interesting Discrepancies

What I thought was interesting: Omar was and is associated with a lobbying group to get rid of the alleged loophole. CBS mentioned that, but ABC did not. CBS at least pointed out that sales from dealers in gun shows are subject to background checks, while private sales are not. That's the so-called loophole. They pointed out that fear of what Obama and the Democrats will do is what drove up sales and chased ammunition off the shelves. Quite accurate. But they repeated the lie about Mexican drug cartel guns coming from the United States and gun shows, and they allowed Omar to claim, without substantiation of any kind, that "future" killers like the one who shot his sister will get guns from shows because its so easy. I'm glad they reported the decline in support for gun control as surveyed by the Gallup organization, although I thought the number was lower than the 49 percent they quoted. Actually the 49 percent was the number of people who wanted stricter gun controls, and 29 precent was the number who favored an outright ban of handguns, the lowest ever reported.

Omar said he bought a "stronger" glock at the gun show then what was used to kill his sister . Brilliant, this guy has really done his homework!!

Well, I watched the whole segment. I think that it was more balanced than the 20/20 junk.
