Armed Taco Mac Manager Foils Robbery Attempt

ATLANTA -- A masked man, armed with a gun, attempted to rob a Taco Mac manager emptying garbage into a Dumpster, according to Atlanta police.

The incident happened at about 3:10 a.m. Sunday at the Taco Mac Restaurant on North Highland Avenue.

Investigators said the would-be robber forced the manager, who was taking out the trash, back into the restaurant. Authorities said the would-be robber had no idea that the manager was armed.

Authorities said at some point, gunfire was exchanged between the manager and the man.

Investigators said the man fled in a vehicle. Police said they couldn’t confirm whether the would-be robber was actually shot or not.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance video.
