GOOD: Liquor Store Clerk Shoots Back - Macon, GA

13WMAZ.com | Macon, GA | Police: Cross-Dressing Man Robs Macon Store

A Central Georgia man is recovering from a gunshot wound; he got shot after robbing a Macon liquor store at gun point.

A news release from Sgt. Melanie Hofmann with the Macon Police says 50-year-old Ricky Nell Johnson robbed the ABC Liquor Store at 1194 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. on Saturday.

The release says Johnson entered the store around 6:45 p.m. wearing a wig and skirt. It says he showed a handgun, jumped on the counter and demanded money.

After getting some cash, Johnson fired a shot and ran out of the liquor store. The release says an employee returned fire.

According to the release, Johnson was found near a parking deck at the Medical Center. He was taken by ambulance to the emergency room, where doctors treated him for a gunshot wound to the torso near the buttocks.

Johnson was released from the hospital and taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Armed Robbery.
    Good for the clerk.

How do they get away with shooting them in the back/butt? Is it only in Arizona that you cannot shoot someone once they are making the play to leave?? Maybe I have the law wrong on this,...

    and

This isn't the first cross-dressing crook story I've read recently - it seems like there have been several. Does that mean that cross-dressers are more likely to be criminals or that criminals are more likely to be cross-dressers?

As for the shot in the buttock region it sounds like a good shoot to me. This guy fired his weapon at least once and may have been firing over his shoulder or planning to when he got his injection of lead.

Ol Ricky "Nell" must have one heck of a vertical leap to hop up on the counter in heels and a skirt...this is too funny.
On a side note, I knew I'd seen it all when I saw a Transvestite at least 7 ft tall walking down the street in a red sequined dress and an orange wig, in stilettos. This individual was humongous. I was working the door with a guy that was 6'6 and Ms.Big Boy made him look small. I laughed so hard, just not too loud...lol.

Do prisons have access to dry cleaners that can get blood stains out of light cotton dresses?

All dressed up and he DOES have somewhere to go......for a long time, too!

I imagine it is because he was armed and shooting. Back turned or not you are still a threat as long as you have a firearm. At least in Texas where I live don't know about Georgia.

Here in FL "I was in fear for my Life" would be at play since he was shooting as he ran. It would be a good shoot here.

As for the cross-dressing -- it seems obvious to me that cowardly crooks want to minimize their chances of being shot and they just think that cross-dressing buys them more time that way (banks on people being less likely to shoot a "woman").
