Felon charged with firing gunshots in dispute

MILTON -- A neighborhood property dispute led to gunshots being fired along Mill Branch Road in Milton on Tuesday, July 7, according to criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Jerry Dale Keeney, 54, was incarcerated at 10 p.m. Tuesday in the Western Regional Jail. The Cabell County Sheriff's Office charged him with two counts of felony wanton endangerment, a single count of felony possession of a firearm and misdemeanor discharging a weapon within 500 feet of a dwelling. Bond was $65,000.
Criminal complaints charge Keeney with shooting at a moving vehicle containing two occupants. The incident concerned a property dispute being heard in Cabell Circuit Court. Keeney had a .22 caliber long rifle in his possession.
Possessing that firearm and two others resulted in another felony charge. The charge accused Keeney of being a felon in possession of a firearm. His criminal record includes a grand larceny conviction in April 1977 and a domestic battery conviction from December 2007, according to the criminal complaint
