Daley’s bodyguard catches killer; ‘we should all be so lucky,’ says saf
NEWS RELEASE
BELLEVUE, WA – The capture of a convicted killer Monday near the Michigan vacation home of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley proves that guns in the right hands are necessary for personal safety, the Second Amendment Foundation said today.
“Mayor Daley is protected by an armed guard,” said SAF founder Alan Gottlieb, “but what about the citizens of his city, who have no such luxury? The mayor is a world class hypocrite, who has bodyguards with guns to protect him from escaped killers like Charles Smith. Yet he is continuing to stubbornly fight against average citizens who are willing to protect themselves, but unable to because of Daley’s deranged double standard about firearms and personal protection.”
The Second Amendment Foundation is challenging Chicago’s handgun ban and the case may be headed for the U.S. Supreme Court.
Smith broke out of prison with two other men, a rapist and another murderer, in Michigan City, Indiana. At last report the other two were still at large, and one is believed to be in the Grand Beach, MI area where Daley’s summer home is located. Authorities there have been warning residents to stay inside.
“While Daley can lounge in the protective shadow of armed bodyguards even when he is out of state,” Gottlieb added, “average citizens in Chicago and all over Illinois must contend with the mayor’s elitist attitude about gun ownership. Most people can’t afford armed bodyguards.
“So long as Daley fights to keep his fellow citizens unarmed,” he observed, “he does not deserve the protection of men with guns. Daley’s self-importance is of little interest to the single mom who worries about an ex-boyfriend, or the shop keeper trying to make an honest living in a neighborhood ruled by gang bangers and drug users.
“Richard Daley’s arrogance has been revealed by this incident,” Gottlieb concluded. “Take away his bodyguards and just tell him to dial 9-1-1 like the rest of us. No public official should place his own safety above that of his constituents.”

Bloomberg and Chuck U. Schumer and the rest of the NYS elite libs have the same type of security details as Daly has and not surprisingly the same attitude about private gun ownership and CCW. These hypocrites are the same crowd that are flushing NY down the toilet with every stroke of their pens. God help NYS.

Typical politician...

This is right near my son's home...this morning, while I walked over to buy some great coffee, the police were looking for one of the two dirtbags who had just made a phone call in a gas station I bought a paper in. They had his photo, but he was gone.
The dirtbag is roaming around here...somewhere.
Stay armed...you never know...stay safe!

Hypocrisy is a good tactic to use against these politrickians ....if the people can't be protected by arms ,neither should they. They should be called on it and shamed at every turn. Every person who is a crime victim in Chicago or NY should sue the city for not keeping them safe, and denying them the means to keep themselves safe.

True. Sad thing is a large part of that 'majority' is either ignorant or uninformed... or both.

This reminds me a great deal of the Rosie O'Donnell story as well. She wanted her bodyguard to carry a handgun for her & her families protection. But for the average person, NO WAY! Definitely a tad hypocritical! It wreaks of "Do as I say and not as I do!"

Body Guards or police??
I wonder if they are body guards or police. If body guards how can they carry in MI as you need a permit from your state of residence to carry in MI and Illinois does not issue permits to carry. Well at least concealed. I could be wrong. Even open carry (which is legal without a permit for residents) requires a permit for not residence in order to get the hand gun across the state line into Michigan.
From the state web site
MSP - Michigan's Concealed Pistol Law - FAQs
2. Can a resident of another state legally possess a pistol in Michigan?
If you are a non-resident of Michigan with a valid concealed pistol permit from your home state, Michigan will recognize your permit (MCL 28.432 & MCL 28.432a). However, you must carry in conformance with any and all restrictions appearing on the permit. You are subject to Michigan's concealed pistol law including but not limited to restrictions on where a concealed pistol may be carried. Without a CPL, a non-resident may not have a pistol in Michigan.

They are most likely duty assigned state police.
Isn't that the norm for governors?

Sometimes the majority fail to pull the wool from their eyes to see whats really going on and vote the POS's in. They should have the same protection as everyone else.
Never argue with idiots - they'll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
