Bad, shoots self on the freeway.
Man accidentally shoots himself on I-5 | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local & Regional

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - A man accidentally shot himself in the leg Sunday while riding in a car on Interstate 5, the Washington State Patrol reports.
The accident happened just after 11 a.m. as the car was heading south near Federal Way.
State troopers said the man was riding in the passenger seat showing a gun to the driver when it went off, hitting him in the leg.
The driver pulled over to the shoulder.
State troopers and emergency personnel arrived on the scene and the passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

I always hate to hear the excuse “it just went off”, if someone wants to show off a weapon CLEAR IT FIRST.

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
Unbelievable, that fiddling with a firearm would be done in such a place. The result isn't that surprising.
What gross and negligent disregard for the basic safety rules:
- A gun is always loaded.
- Never point the gun at something you are not prepared to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
- Be certain of your target, and what is beyond it.
In an automobile on the highway, you can't every resolve #2 and #4 to satisfaction, such that it can become all too easy to harm someone, let alone yourself.
Your best weapon is your brain. Don't leave home without it.
Thoughts: Justifiable self defense.
Explain: How does
disarming victims
reduce the number of victims?

Just prior to it going off, he was heard to say "hey bubba, have a look!"

If so, he needs some basic instruction.
He needs remedial training in the 'trigger' department.

judgement comes from experience, and experience...well that comes from bad judgement.

Stupid is as stupid does.
There's a time and a place for all things, and I'd submit that riding down the highway in a car is not the time to be showing your buddy your pistol.

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.
