An Orlando man turned the tables on two men he thought planned to rob him this morning, shooting one dead and holding the other until authorities arrived, deputies said today.

Miguel Jimenez told deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office that he noticed two men waiting at his apartment complex on Sherwood Terrace Drive as he arrived home.

As he walked toward his apartment, one of the men pointed a handgun at Jimenez, who drew his own gun and fired, striking and killing Andri Benjamin, 18, who dropped his gun to the ground while falling. The second suspect then approached Jimenez, who held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived about 12:24 a.m. Deputies have not yet revealed the second suspect's name.

An initial investigation appears to support Jimenez's contention that he was the victim of an attempted armed robbery, according to the sheriff's office.

Jimenez has a concealed-weapons permit and produced it for law enforcement.

    Thumbs up

    Sounds like it.

Mr. Jimenez was very aware of 'trouble brewing' and was prepared.
He saved himself(good one), saved the second bullet (OK, one mistake), and saved the taxpayers some $$$.
All in all, it was a good night.

I never like it when the newspapers use the victims name since the now deceased gangbanger probably has friends who may wish to retaliate..

great result. The aftermath is the scary part, but this guy was obviously a victim and was forced to use force..
