RIVIERA BEACH — A colorful couple is in trouble with the law.
A man nicknamed "Yellow Boy" fired a semiautomatic gun at a crowd in a Riviera Beach development Tuesday afternoon from the backseat of a car while his friend, a woman nicknamed "Red" was driving.
Sheldon "Yellow Boy" Chapple, 22, was arrested today on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm while Tonia "Red" Solomon, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possessing a stolen firearm.
According to a police report, witnesses in the Sonoma Bay development in the 1900 block of Allamanda Way told police they saw Solomon driving a Chrysler 300 by them while a passenger in the car, identified as Chapple, opened fire on the crowd. Nobody was injured.
Officers found Solomon at a home in the development and searched the home, eventually finding Chapple hiding in the attic. They also found an AK-47 assault rifle in the attic, according to the report.
Police searched the home again today and found a 9 mm handgun that was reported stolen from Palm Springs in June as well as a small amount of marijuana and crack cocaine. Both Solomon and Chapple were booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
This case is still being investigated and more charges are pending, according to the report.
