Sounds like he got off light. I thought there was a 3 year min/man on the charges.

Regardless, something to show those who claim that they don't need no schtinkin' permit to carry a gun.......

I wonder what specific gun he was carrying that discharged as it slid down his pants.

It was a Glock .40. Not sure of the model, though.

From Plaxico Burress pleads guilty, agrees to two-year prison term - NFL - SI.com "The former New York Giants wide receiver pleaded guilty to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon..."

Because he attempted to grab it when it slid?

It doesn't matter where you live, there are laws,I'm not saying I agree with their gun laws, but if you break the law there are consequences, and he knew he was breaking the law,he's just lucky nobody was killed by a possible ricochet

He probably only serve half of that sentence because he has lots of money. I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Even though I believe that such laws requiring permission to carry a gun are unconstitutional, you must be aware that violating even such a stupid law has consequences.

I am not bothered in the least that he carried a gun in NY.

What bothers me is that he is so stupid or careless that he did not bother to adequately secure the gun.

That 3 year min/max is for people like us, the rich and sports figures get things easier. Money goes along way.

$50.00 holster would have saved him millions. But what kinda ganstza carries in a holster. Nope, mexician carry all the way. It may be natural reaction to try to grab a sliding gun down the pants leg but if you let in slide down an hit the floor no harm no foul.

He'll go to jail and then get out to a job in the millions...how many of you could do that?
