So, as his cancer progresses, maybe he'll want to come to the US for treatment. I can think of some treatment he deserves.

He should have died of lead poisoning, 20 years ago.

I sincerely hope that the average Scot is as disgusted by this as we are.

I feel two ways about this:

    1. He should never have been released.

    2. By releasing him, the Brits are showing that they are more humane than he is.

I struggle to reconcile these two views.

Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill - "Our belief dictates that justice be served but mercy be shown," MacAskill said, ruling that al-Megrahi "be released on compassionate grounds and be allowed to return to Libya to die."

Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill's quote should have been:
"Mercy was shown when the mass murderer was given the benefit of a fair trial in a public proceeding. Mercy was shown when as a result of this fair trial the mass murderer was not executed. Mercy was shown when the mass murderer was placed in a clean and humane prison. A prison where he shall remain for the term of his sentence."

There, that wasn't so hard, was it Minister MasAsskill.

So remind me again what reason he has NOT to strap a bomb to his person and take out more people?

He got a real heroes welcome in Libya.

    Disgusting.

Though looking on the bright side. Terminal Cancer can occasionally be a good thing.
Wishing him a slow & painful one with the very best of that great world class medical care in the ammonia hole of Libya.

Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill - "Our belief dictates that justice be served but mercy be shown," MacAskill said, ruling that al-Megrahi "be released on compassionate grounds and be allowed to return to Libya to die."
Your belief, MacAskill, dictates that terrorists around the world drive bombs through that gaping hole you just created in your people's security, through that monstrous "Terrorist-Free Zone" sign you just posted for all the world's murderers to see.

Frankly, he could have died just as well where he was, with his relatives visiting while he laid on a slab.

What a day. A day when leaders have lost their minds. A day when heinous acts of murder are rewarded. A day when the governments of people seeking justice are made a laughingstock. A day when the claim to "leadership" is as worthless as the last square of Charmin on the roll. Compassion? More like spit in the eye of each person seeking to have their governments do more than merely occupy space. What a day.
