BOYNTON BEACH - Cats, beware: Use the kitty litter box in Robert Taylor's house.

Upset that his cat pooped on his bed while he was sleeping, Taylor took it to the garage of his home on the 20 block of Hawthorne Lane about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to "scare it," according to police.

Fear, for Taylor, means firing a Browning .22 caliber handgun.

Police came and Taylor, 43, admitted to drinking and firing the weapon to teach the cat a lesson.

The cat was not injured, but Taylor was sent to jail on charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling and using a firearm while under the influence.

First, alcohol and firearms does not seem to increase the intelligence of the average person.

Second, it sounds like the cat is not the only one who got a 'lesson.'
Wonder if Taylor 'gets it.'

Shooting into an occupied dwelling is a felony of the second degree in Florida and carries up to 15 years in prison and / or a fine of up to $10,000.

I suspect Taylor's lesson will be much harder than the cat's.

Alcohol is not the fault here, no more so than is it that of the firearm...as many anti-gun people would say and do think.

Jang did it again. If you have poor judgement alcohol ain't gonna fix it. If you have a cat that craps on your bed it's probably your fault, not the cats. I got a dollar says he was shooting at the cat (I'd crap on his bed too). If you can't handle your drink you probably can't handle life in general (hence the over indulgence) and you really don't need to be handling a deadly weapon. Alcohol is beginning to be a scapegoat for poor behaviour just like the weapon is being used as a scapegoat for shootings.

I never thought about the cat and the porn thing. But I never made a connection between this cat and the Cat in the Hat either. I never slept with a cat that shat. I've had cats that shat but they never wore a hat. The cats that I had that wore hats, in them, never shat.

I can't stand cats. But I imagine the cat was trying to teach him a lesson about remembering to clean out the litter box. Dogs and cats do that on the bed when they're really p/o'd at you not because they forgot where to go.
