Clumsy home-invasion robber gets shot with own gun

HAMPTON, VA - Shortly after midnight Wednesday, two armed men burst into a home in the 1100 block of East Pembroke Ave., and attacked the resident. The two assailants demanded money, while another waited outside behind the wheel of the getaway car.
In the chaos, one of the robbers dropped his gun.
Hampton police spokeswoman Cpl. Paula Ensley said: “During the assault, one of the suspects dropped his handgun which the victim was able to retrieve. The victim fired the handgun striking one of the suspects in the arm.”
Both robbers then ran to the waiting car and fled the scene.
Police then caught up with one of them at a local hospital emergency room.
Keyen Lamar Hill, 27, who was shot, was arrested and charged with robbery, four counts of attempted robbery, maiming, abduction, breaking and entering while armed, and six counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony,.
Two suspects remain at large. One is described as a dark-skinned black male, between 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-11, and 250 pounds. The other is described as a light-skinned black male with freckles, between 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-10, and 250 pounds.
