Update: Police say home invasion victim acted in self defense

North Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - The man who shot and killed two men yesterday in North Syracuse will not face any charges. Police say the man was acting in self-defense.
Jeffery Bush was in his home with friends when two men Broke into bush's home on Elm Street around 1:00 am Saturday. Police say those two men were indentified as Thomas Lashomb and Wade Brown. One of them attacked bush. When he could brake away, he grabbed a gun and shot the two men, killing both of them.
Bush’s neighbor Joel Wardle was surprised by the events in his neighborhood, and said, “it's crazy; this area is pretty safe, so for something like that to happen around here, that's kind of odd.”
North Syracuse Police say the men did know each other, but they are not yet sure why the suspects targeted him at home yesterday.

North Syracuse, New York (WSYR-TV) - North Syracuse Police say they are not filing any charges against the man who shot and killed two people who broke into his home around 1 o'clock Saturday morning at 115 Elm Street.
They say Jeffrey Bush, 22 was acting in self defense when 23-year-old Thomas Lashomb and 26-year-old Wade Brown, both of Syracuse, forced their way into the home and attacked him.
A friend, who was at Bush's home, jumped in and began fighting with Brown. That's when Bush fired a shotgun at Lashomb, killing him. He then shot Brown who died on the way to the hospital.
Police also tell NewsChannel 9 that Bush's home was targeted and they believe he knew Lashomb in some capacity. However, they are still working to find out a motive.
Officers will be handing the case over to the Onondaga County District Attorney's office so it can review the evidence. It is unclear whether charges will be filed by the D.A.
