They shut down some main highways when a soldier came back to the St Louis area a month or so ago. Lots of police and fire vehicles blocking traffic. It was wonderful.
On more than one occasion I've blocked traffic for a funeral caravan. Idiots have no respect and are to busy getting to their appointments.

A similar thing happened a few months ago, I was at a funeral for a family member and on the way to the graveyard an idiot in a massive pickup decided he was going to pass all of us (at least 50 cars) on a busy road and swerved to avoid incoming traffic, nearly causing a massive pileup in the process.
No respect man.

I've always seen funeral processions with Police escorts to block intersections and keep everyone together . I imagine that it would be hard to do it without, too many people drive around clueless. I saw a lady today ,driving and reading a newspaper, she would have never seen a funeral or anything else.
