tried to rob the wrong dude!! Looks like 1 or 2 of them are still alive, and the cop seems pretty relaxed in the photos. Probably happens regularly in El Paso.

This was posted last year, soon as I saw the first pic I immediately recognized the situation.
Give me 3 minutes to go to another forum where I moderate to locate the info which was detailed.

    Edit:

As it turns out I was the one who had posted the then new news detail...

Sao Paolo LEO, in civy clothing, resists and stops three during attempted mugging

    Preface:
The following story as detailed features images of person who have expired and lots of blood.
For respect of those may be squeamish about the sight of such things I will not post direct links to the images.

The reason I am posting this here though rather than in Unmoderated is because the imagery is not a focus on gore.
It's the story that is relevant for here. This is an excellent example showing how a single individual, who is armed, can be quite effective and efficient at stopping an assault upon his person even in the event of facing an amount of attackers with greater numbers than himself.

At times people who do not understand civilian concealed carry and methodology, which comes with training, will remark that there is no point to carrying because the other guys...the bad guys....they carry guns too and will shoot you first. And/or in an event where you are outnumbered you shoot the first guy and then his buddies they shoot you.
Well in actuality it rarely ever works out that way in truth. At least outside of TV, movies, and criminals shooting back and forth at other criminals during criminal activity meets that go sour.

In this case the victim just happened to be a law enforcement officer who wisely was carrying whilst in plain clothes/off duty. He looked to these three to be a proper 'mark' and victim like any other civilian. They were wrong in their analysis.

The result of that error cost 2 of them their lives and a third what looks to be a pint of blood and possibly use if not physical attachment of his left arm.

    ---

"Three armed men tried to rob an San Paolo police officer (he's in civilian clothes) in front of a bank. The plan was to grasp his back pack and get away on a stolen motorcycle. The well prepared police officer shot all of them, managing to kill two at the scene. The third was shot in both arms. The weapon used was a 40 cal semiautomatic handgun."

Well, that's what the aftermath of a defensive shooting is gonna look like. Glad that the cop appeared to be unharmed.

When you're out 'shopping' for trouble, you sometimes get more than you bargained for...

I certainly have no problem with what this cop did...

    Thanks.

It was not NSFW last year but it seems the porno review 'text' and what not statements are there now.

    Sorry about that. :(

That's amusing! I work for a large, Fortune 100 engineering firm heavily involved in aerospace. The IT "nuns" will block the "Save the Ta-Tas" breast cancer site, You Tube, and social networking sites, but stuff like the Sao Paulo shooting and the Defensive Carry sites are completely unfiltered.
