Bad: Gun Show Loophole on TV News

Looked bad this morning on HLN (I think that's the channel playing in the hotel lobby) showing someone with hidden camera going around in a gun show (New York State I think) haggling with people in booths there about buying a gun.

Purchaser (with hidden camera) tells the seller something like "I don't think I could pass a background check" and how the seller doesn't care and some even said "I probably couldn't pass one either".

At gun shows in my hometown (Mobile Alabama) they ALL make the phone call before selling. I don't know if this was a setup or real.

Either way - really looked \ sounded bad seeing that going on.

What some want it to come to is - My having to run a background check to sell to even my brother in law.

Here in Fla there are deals going on outside the gun show. No one is making any calls. I know you all will say that it is allowed due to the 2nd admendment but it does make you think. You all must know that now a days most sellers will sell to anybody that has the cash. I think maybe there is something to closing the "gunshow loophole".

It doesn't matter. Get rid of all private sales of firearms. Then what? The bad guys still make 'private' deals. It's nobody's business if I buy or sell a gun, like always, these laws only make lawful arms dealing more difficult. There will always be criminals. There will always be armed criminals. No amount of laws will change that. I have an idea, let's ban crime. Ridiculous, isn't it?

I agree. It doesn't matter how hard you make it to buy/sell guns legally, criminals will get them because they don't do it legally. All of this gun law nonsense is a smoke screen for libs who want to take away our guns so they can enslave us. That is why we must be vigilant and fight any attempts to further restrict our 2nd Amendment rights. An unarmed population is an enslaved population who must do whatever the government dictates. Don't let the leftist, socialist, communist, one-world liberals fool you into giving up any more rights, and keep fighting them to get back the ones we've lost.
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes ... they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Thomas Jefferson

Most people aren't old enough to remember the good ole days prior to 1968 when nothing was required to buy a gun. Guns could be bought at hardware stores, grocery stores and even gas stations. In spite of this, there was no "gun problem".
The so called loop hole is a non existent problem made up to make sure every gun in existence is in some data base along with every person that owns one.

I don't remember what year but you could even order revolvers and maybe 1911's and rifles, shotguns etc. outta the Sears Catalog.

Heck, I believe you could even order an Army Tank - no kidding, An ARMY TANK outta the Sears Catalog!
