Good for him, could have easily gone wrong had the bad dude's reflex been to pull the trigger. Not sure what happens during brain death (i.e., do muscles relax or contract?).

I hope everything comes out alright for the homeowner; Situations like that are why I have the video surveillance system with motion sensors around my house to at least give us some advance warning of intruders......

A home alarm or a good dog can certainly help keep you from being woken up by a man pointing a gun at you in bed. I'm glad that the right guy got shot in this case , it could have easily gone the other way.

Nice shooting homeowner! With ammo as expensive as it is, no sense wasting it on a BG!

Here is the latest update with the BG's picture.

81-Year Old Man Kills Home Invader : NorthEscambia.com

Seems accoring to this the Homeowners wife was sitting on the bed with a shotgun in her lap.

    Tlak about being well prepared!

He was dressed in dark clothing and a ski mask. McCall had been released from a Nebraska jail only about 48 hours at the time of his death.
    He didn't waste any time.

    Neither did the homeowner.

Two days outta jail and he's breaking into occupied dwellings at 3 am.

Well, no more jail food and flip-flops for him. He be taking the dirt nap from now on!

    Good job for Mr. Homeowner!
