    State Trooper Shoots His Finger

State Trooper Shoots His Finger -- Courant.com

SIMSBURY - A state trooper injured his finger in a shooting mishap at the state police firing range last week.

The trooper, a sergeant at the Troop K barracks, shot himself during what's known as "live-fire" training exercise at the state police firing range on Nod Road in Simsbury, sources said.

The call for medical assistance came in to local police at 6:51 p.m. Oct. 13, according to Simsbury police records.

The trooper's injury was minor, said Lt. J. Paul Vance, state police spokesman. There's no internal affairs investigation or disciplinary action because the accident occurred during a training exercise, he said. The state police conducted a safety review after the incident, he said.

"It's just an accident that occurred," Vance said. He would not identify the state trooper.

Meg Ryan in Armend and Dangerous 1986: "Just remember, when you pull the trigger, the bullets come out going very, very fast. So make sure to keep the weapon pointing away from you. Now that's about it. You are now armed... guards. God help us all."

I would like to be at their next kangaroo court. That is going to be some funny stuff. Minimum is next work day everyone will come in with a finger bandaged. Then it is downhill from there.

I can see 20 but not 21, you still need one to pull the trigger.

But why? Is it because the incident is to embarrassing.
