Phoenix (AZ) PD: Robber in Halloween costume jumped by victims
PHOENIX -- A robbery suspect is in critical condition at a Valley hospital after he was jumped by several of his victims Friday night, according to police.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Hill said 33-year-old Justin James Pare allegedly confronted a 29-year-old man in his apartment, near 7th and Peoria avenues, around 10:45 p.m.
Hill said the suspect was wearing a black Halloween costume with a skeleton mask and the victim thought it was a joke until Pare reached into his coat and took out a silver revolver.
Pare reportedly demanded money, telling his victim "don't move or I'll shoot." The victim refused and ran out of the apartment into a courtyard area of the complex.
Hill said the suspect chased his victim and began waving a gun at other neighbors who were attending a party in the same complex.
Pare allegedly demanded money from the people in the courtyard then struck a 32-year-old male in the head with a gun.
According to Hill, the first victim grabbed a bat and struck the suspect, causing him to drop two guns.
Other neighbors and party-goers apparently jumped Pare, striking him a number of times with the bat and a 2x4.
The suspect's mask came off during the struggle and he fled in a 2007 Dodge Nitro, which police stopped in a parking lot near 21st Avenue and Cactus Road.
Pare was transported to John C. Lincoln Hospital with a skull fracture and severe nose injury. Hill said his injury is considered life-threatening.
Three of the robbery victims also sustained minor injuries during the incident, according to Hill.

I bet he comes back and rolls the entire complex.

I hope he has a slow and painful recovery...or even better, no recovery at all.

His pistol broke after he pistol-whipped one of the victims. I wonder what kind it was.
I love it when a BG gets what he deserves.

Fantastic turn of events...hope the dirtbag either dies or has permanent injuries. Think I'm being too cold hearted?

Nope. If a violent criminal was standing in the left side of the road, and a cat in the right, and I had to miss one at the expense of hitting the other, I'd swerve left. And I hate cats.

So if he recovers, do you think he'll sue the victims for assault? A shame no one was CCW legal in the crowd.

I wonder if he'd try to say he just went to the party dressed as a robber and they beat him? "The gun was just part of the costume!"

Yup. It ain't over, yet. The schmuck knows where they all live, and he knows they got the better of him (for now). Once he gets out of jail, he might well have something else to say about things. Of course, police will know pretty much who did it, if that were to happen, and his life would be screwed. But, screwed up as some folks are these days, he might well not care.
Caution is due, for those folks.
Congrats to them, for beating the snot out of the violent felon. He's lucky to be alive, threatening the lives of people like that.

If he even remembers his name, let alone where the event took place!
Got his Dome split open. Maybe he'll have a life filled with drooling on himself and peeing his pants.
