SEATTLE – Seattle police say an officer has been fatally shot, likely the first police officer killed in the line of duty in the city since 2006.
Police said late Saturday they were searching for suspects in the shooting, which took place near an intersection just after 10 p.m. in Seattle's mostly residential Central District.
Police have shut down traffic near the scene of the shooting.
In August 2006, rookie officer Joselito Barber was killed when a woman drove her sport utility vehicle through a red light and broadsided his patrol car.

They had a suspect who threatened the SPD and DOC when he was being released just prior to this incident. His name is Awaz Maki Madow, they arrested him 4 miles from the crime scene, but didn't find enough evidence to hold him.
I went and paid my respects on Sunday where it happened. It was a very sad day.
Also under scrutiny is an anti cop group called October 22, the day of their protest against law enforcement, someone set fire to police vehicles and caused a $1 million worth of damage. They left fliers speaking against the police. Of course the group denied being involved.
The police are tight lipped about the weapon used or the surveillance footage of the suspect vehicle.
I just hope they catch these losers.

Our thoughts and prayers to the officer's family, friends, and cohorts.
I hope the dirtbag(s) go down in a storm of gunfire...bullet going in only in one direction, of course.

Two California based gangs involved in unprovoked police fatalities as part of their gang initiation. Since the Bloods and Cripps moved up here, it is likely these two gangs may have followed:
1. Deep Valley Bloods Oceanside California.
2. Mara Salvatrucha (commonly abbreviated as MS, Mara, and MS-13) is a criminal gang that originated in Los Angeles and has spread to Central America, other parts of the United States, and Canada. MS-13 is one of the most dangerous gangs in the United States. The majority of the gang is ethnically composed of Salvadorans, Hondurans, Guatemalans, and Nicaraguans.
Here is a map of the gangs here: http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattle911...p_shooting.gif...

"This message is being sent to all Faculty, Staff, and Students with the approval of the UW Police Department.
Members of the University of Washington Community:
This Friday morning, Nov. 6, traffic on the east side of the Seattle campus along Montlake Boulevard will be slowed by the funeral procession going to Key Arena for the memorial service for Seattle Police Officer Timothy Brenton, who was killed in the line of duty on Saturday, Oct. 31. All of us at the University Police Department send our sincere condolences to Officer Brenton's family and to his extended family at the Seattle Police Dept.
Access by vehicle to facilities in east and southeast campus Friday morning will be difficult, so plan ahead. The funeral cortege will start from parking lot E-1, proceed south on Montlake Boulevard, cross the Montlake Bridge and head south on 24th Avenue East. As many as 1,500 police vehicles are expected to participate in the procession, which will travel at a slow pace, about 10 mph. The cortege is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., although traffic will be affected earlier as vehicles gather in parking lot E-1. Traffic on Montlake and on Pacific Street will be impacted for about 2 1/2 hours once the procession begins."
