HARTFORD -- Hartford police say a city officer was shot twice by a suspect during an early morning foot chase.
Authorities say the officer was shot in the arm and leg this morning just after midnight and is in stable condition at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Police say they caught the suspect, who was also taken to the hospital. His injuries weren't immediately clear.
The names of the officer and the suspect have not been released.
Police Chief Daryl Roberts says officers showed courage and restraint in apprehending the man.
Police say the officer was investigating a series of burglaries in the area of Tower Avenue and Salisbury Street when he approached the man and he fled.
Police say they recovered the gun used by the suspect.
"Restraint" I presume means the suspect was still alive... too bad.

I wonder if some of the dirtbag's injuries involved heel prints on his teeth?

He probably ran into a building head first with cuffs on. You know some dirt bags are not real smart.
Local news just interviewed a group of the suspects friends *cough, pack of thugs, cough*, outside the courthouse, and they were stating that they were glad their friend shot the cop.
Reporter said "but he could have killed a police officer" and his friend answered "good! he would have been better off." She also said "I'd shoot ANYBODY that runs up on me, this is America, what's wrong wit chew?" to the reporter who was interviewing them. Classy dame, for sure.
Another one in the group was either making gang signs or flipping the bird to the camera the whole time...couldn't tell because they had blurred it out.
Reminds me of why "I" carry, because some people, a LOT of people, are just animals!
