I am not one to claim that I COMPLETELY understand the criminal mind, but for them robbing a CHURCH!?!? That is the THE LOWEST form of robbery (there are others, but this is THE lowest) in my opinion, to rob the house of the Lord....

That is about 20 miles from me and I pray for the church members.

Most folks feel safe in church and once that safety zone is violated it is hard to feel safe in that place again.

Safety is not in the house (Church) but in the LORD.

I pray for them, and that the three that did this sick act will be cough.

Safety like control is an illusion. One we have propagated to make us feel better. That is why as a pastor I carry. It doesn't mean bad things won't happen. Just that I'll be a little better prepared if they do!
We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!

This should surprise no one. How many times has someone said..."Stay armed...any time, any place...stay safe!"? ?

I carry to and in church. Pastor loves me for it. He asked me if I had to would I shoot someone to protect him and the congregation I simply said yes. He was happy to hear that. I guess there is also 4 others that carry in my church to my surprise

As a pastor I carry and feel that it is the right thing to do.

There was a time in America when the Church was considered holy ground by nearly all the population.

Today the Church holds little regard in the eyes of very many in our population.

God help us, but many see the church as just a gathering of unarmed sheep ready to be sheared.

Money is not the important thing, if that would solve the matter than just give the shotgun welding bandit the money and open the door and let him go while you call 911. The true problem is that when they barge in with the gun at the ready they hold the power to wound or kill and may use that power regardless of the money or no money.

Fighting back, you may not win but all the choices are not in the hand of the bandit with a gun.

I carry at church too. I worry about nuts who hate or want to make a statement showing up with a gun more than the robbery motive. Either way, I plan to be there and I plan to be ready.

Don't worry, they'll recover it eventually... one way or another.

    Same here.
In fact at my Church we CHL holders are encouraged to. And the Leaders only ask that if we do, we let them know, so they will know who to look to if there is a problem. They explain it like this. They want to know where the Sheep Dogs are BEFORE the Volves come.
Oh, and we have armed Security too. They know we are their back up.
There have been too many incidences where someone with an axe to grind, walks into a Church to take out his anger at God.
My only prayer is he trys to make a statement before he starts shooting. We would like to know when to draw!

I have no problem arranging a meeting with God for him to discuss his problems. Not that I want to be put in that positioin, but if I have to, I will!

In Mississippi we can not carry at church. So I won't attend until the law is changed. I avoid all gun free zones.
Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around laws. Plato

So I guess you never do 75mph in a 55mph zone either. Do you go to resteraunts that have bars in them with your gun on you? Unless they changed the law in your state you are breaking it. It is suggested that you don't bring your gun to church here but I do not believe that it is a law. Ask your pastor or priest if it is ok. I did and he was happy to hear that I did after all these attacks against churches.

Nothing surprises me any more. Next, they'll rob a kindergarten and take all the lunch boxes.

How we behave as gun owners is important. Posturing and threatening does not serve us well in the public eye.
