Bad--This is why I gave my wife my old flashlight!
I recently talked to my wife about lighting it before you try to shoot it. Maybe a light would have helped her navigate the room too. This is about 2 miles from my house. I am assuming by that when they say "early" it was dark.

LONGVIEW, NC (WBTV) - Police say a woman accidentally shot her husband in the arm after hearing a noise behind their home early Thursday morning.
The shooting occurred at 2620 Main Avenue Drive NW.
The wife went to get the handgun after hearing something behind the house.
A spokesman for the Longview Police Department said the wife got tangled up in some furniture inside and accidentally shot her husband in the shoulder.
The man was taken to Frye Regional Hospital for treatment.
No charges will be filed.
Police never did find out what the noise was.

My guess is the noise was caused by the husbands diet. Wife took care of things.

I bet her gun had night sights though.
Flashlight is overall far more purposeful and functional than night sights.

This guy should have had better communication with his wife...at least she followed through with her SD, but she should have known her target a little better.

Well, I guess he gets a clean slate now. Finally, a husband has something to hold over his wifes head.

Well, At least his honey do list will be MUCH shorter this week. He can now defend himself when the wife blames him for Forgetting anything. He simply says "Honey, do YOU remember when you FORGOT to yell whos there before shooting me?"

DA takes gun gang down
They went by cute names: "Chocolaty," "Pimples" and "Shorty."
But prosecutors say this upper Manhattan crew wasn't up to fun and games, and instead ran a one-stop, gun-and-coke wholesale "boutique," supplying gangbangers with drugs and weapons across from an elementary school on West 212th Street.
Thanks to the work of a brave, unnamed undercover cop, 33 guns are now off the street and seven alleged members of the gang face an 106-count indictment -- although three remain at large, including "Pimples," real name Juan Pichardo, 22.
"The nicknames are descriptive," quipped Dan Rather, chief of the Manhattan DA's Office firearms-trafficking unit.
Cops also seized some 400 rounds of ammo, "the kind that can go right through your car door," said trial-division chief Nancy Ryan.
Where do people get there info from ?

Oh, it seems that it gets stranger than I thought. Looks like she shot him in bed while retrieving the gun, not thinking he was making the noise. HMMMM Watch those trigger fingers. And he's lucky to be alive after being shot with the ultimately one shot man killer round, a .45!!!!
LONG VIEW - A Long View man was treated and released at Frye Regional Medical Center early Thursday morning after his wife accidentally shot him with a .45-caliber handgun.
Lt. R.A. Coffey of the Long View Police Department said that at about 3:20 a.m., a woman in her home in the 2600 block of Main Avenue Drive, NW, had stayed up late watching television. She was getting her coffeemaker ready and the timer set for the morning brew when she heard a noise coming from behind her house.
Her husband was asleep at the time and she got the gun.
"She bumped into some furniture and she accidentally shot her husband in the shoulder," Coffey said.
The bullet shattered the man's collarbone, but he is recovering at home, Coffey said.
The shooting has been ruled accidental and no charges will be filed. The couple is in their 40s and both have told investigators the shooting was not intentional, Coffey said.
The couple's names were not released. No one was found behind the house.
