Suffolk police are asking for help from the public in locating two suspects wanted in a home invasion robbery on Wednesday morning.

According to police, two men with weapons broke into the home in the 1000 block of Custis Road about 5:30 a.m. They approached the 80-year-old homeowner while he was in bed, and then took cash and the victim’s vehicle. The victim was not injured.

The vehicle, a maroon 2002 GMC Envoy like the one in the above photo, was found a few blocks away later in the day.

The suspects are described as black males in their 30s or 40s.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up. Crime Line callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. If a caller’s information leads to an arrest, the caller can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.

I used to work EMS in Suffolk. I am not surprised. Bad neighborhood all the way around. Part of the East Suffolk Knife and Gun Club.

Yeah that's a rough part of town. We have befriended a family that we met through Tae Kwon Do at the YMCA that lives over in that general area. They don't drive and my wife used to drop them off after TKD and that used to make me nervous.

Between that and gang problem in North Suffolk (near Churchland) this (biggest city in Virginia) little town that's known for Planters Peanuts and Lipton Tea sure has its problems.
