    Unhappy Negligent Discharges

was surfing around and came across this site. the following link goes to a page dedicated to NDs. Looking through the pictures, reading the stories, some turn out as lesson learned some turn out as horrible examples of needless death to remind us. SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY!!! The responsibility we carry with us every day has life and death consequences.

I am pretty sure that ankle is a picture of a grizzly attack. At least that is what it said when I saw it...I will see if I can find it.

    Warning -very graphic pictures

OK folks, PLEASE explain to me how this is possible:

"A patron was heeding nature's call at Carl's Jr. restaurant in Centerville Utah when his Kahr P40 came out of it's holster and hit the floor. The pistol discharged,..."

I have been told and read over and over that it is impossible for a Kahr to discharge without the trigger being pulled. Something about the firing pin blocked.

My new Kahr is in 10 day lockup and I intend to carry it. What must I do to not have this happen, and don't say get a retention holster as it is possible to drop it when unholstering.

So, the guy's story is he dropped it and it went off. I don't think so, he either was playing with it or dropped it and tried to catch it, either way pulling the trigger. That's how guns get fired, someone pulled the trigger. At least for guns like Kahrs and Glocks.
Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.

    Agreed. ^^

    Tomfoolery, plain and simple.

He's seated on the throne and with no magazine to read he goes hands on to his gun to fiddle with it POP!...Ears ringing, disoriented a bit...Looks down and sees gun on floor. Other people in bathroom see same as folk rush in with what the heck is going on faces.

It gets reported to the police and news as being the fault of the gun.
    "It just went off..."

How many times in life have we heard that one?
    Yeah, uh huh...riiiight.

    Tomfoolery, at the Circle K.

Those are scary and heartbreaking storys that didn't need to happen...

    Except this one:
    ========================
Kokomo Indiana--A thug shot himself in the balls after robbing a convenience store of cash and cigarettes. While the cashier bagged his loot, the thug pulled a Lee Paige while shoving his semi-automatic handgun into his britches. The slug pierced one testicle free of charge, and then lodged in the unfortunate criminal's leg. The criminal exclaimed that he shot himself and ran out of the store.

Coincidentally, less an hour later, police received a call concerning a man who had been shot nearby. 25 year old Derrick Kosch claims he was just minding his own bidness, concentrating on truckin' right, when a dark voice beside him tried to rob him......and in the ensuing battle, Kosch was shot in the groin, and the leg.

Kosch was arrested on robbery and criminal recklessness charges. Police say they are still searching for the gun. Kosch is still hoping they find his right nut.

    Experience is one harsh teacher

It's a crying shame that so many people have to learn the hard way...and I can only hope that those who read through these sad tales take the lessons to heart. Thank you for the link, I have passed it on.

The collection of ND stories confirms what Ron White said: "You can't fix stupid".
