I'd be interested to see statistical information on the increase in Concealed Weapons Permit holders in TPD's jurisdiction. Hard to believe that such a large decline is in no part due to Floridian's taking a more active interest in their own defense.

Hopefully the Tampa PD brass aren't fiddling with the numbers like Atlanta PD has been doing for years to give the appearance of declining occurrences of crime. It may be because of where I live but I am generally suspicious when I encounter such a large decrease in crime reported for a MSA.

The St Louis County Police recently made a big deal of a decline in crime. I say good for them. I am sure they had a lot to do with the improvements. However, I noticed not one hint of credit for the relatively new Missouri concealed carry law. Nor, one question from the media about same.

Theres no way in heck that Tampa's crime has dropped that much that quick. I had a stint there about a year ago and it was far past salvageable. Sure, there are some ok neighborhoods. I still wouldnt want to live in those great neighborhoods because of what they are surrounded by. Theres only one good neighborhood in Tampa, and its technically not in Tampa: Best neighborhood in tampa

I heard this stat the other day on the radio, followed by an 8 or 10 percent increase in Pinellas county (St Pete/Clearwater/Palm Harbor)... sound like they just headed west and crossed the bay...
