    Shooting at 'Bama-Hunstville

Three dead and one wounded, developing story. I'm sure this happened in a gun-free zone.

Orlando Sentinel is saying the shooter is a woman who is reportedly a faculty member.

    Odd.

Just saw it. Early reports look like it's a faculty member upset over being denied tenure. This one could get really ugly! If it was a woman shooter it appears to be one of the first on a college campus in the nation.

There must be some kind of mistake. No guns are allowed on campus, so there is NOOOOOOOOOOOO way that this could have happened. Maybe they should have signs posted at all the entrances that say "No ugly, disgruntled, gun-wielding psychopaths allowed"

She will get tenure now. Just not the kind she planned.

Went there 14 months ago for my son's graduation from that university. His first comment when I called him, "Gun free zone". Prayers for those killed or injured and their families and friends.

CNN is saying 3 killed, 3 wounded.

    Sad.

Im a student there...i have a lot of classes in that building. Definitely another case of a gun free zone. The official timeline says the shooting happened at 4:00 and first police response was 4:01....a minute can make a lot of difference. Keep the victims families in your prayers.

Is the Brady Bunch and the Bloomturd Herd already there to show us all how much they care? Are they participating and performing and posing at a makeshift whining shrine for the cameras and media-joke folks who are looking for sad poingient pictures and quotes? Will they bring or buy and light candles, set up teddy bears and release balloons into the air there, to also show us all how much they care? Sorry, it all seems sort of predictable and boring when you've heard it and seen it all before. The survivors and "friends" will no doubt get some free publicity and boohoo, and maybe sue, too...with free newspaper space and TV time for whining, with free air fare and expenses for drinking and dining? God, I hope that this killer does not have a CCW permit! I doubt if she is a member of the NRA, by the way, she being a Harvard grad and all. Ohhhhhh...I hope she did not buy this gun at a gun show.

Second school shooting in the area in a week.

    http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...n-alabama.html

    Absolutely terrible.

The middle school shooting was targeted, execution style, and likely nothing could have been done, but the UAH shooting may have had a lower body count (or at least been a gunfight rather than a slaughter) if it weren't a gun-free zone.

BTW, being a Harvard grad and being an NRA member are not mutually exclusive.

It is interesting that in a time where the overall crime rate, including violent crime has gone down, these type of incidents seem to crop up more frequently. A UVA study showed the the incidence of school shootings is actually decreasing (Youth Violence Project - National Statistics). This suggests it is media sensationalism that makes it seem like it is more frequent.

I wonder how long she has been a woman.
